The 3rd Lair's 'Summer Series' is

the first ever cumulative points

skateboard contest series for

the state of Minnesota!

MISSION STATEMENT

The 3rd Lair’s Summer Series started in 2007. We couldn’t help but notice that skateboarding was turning into a legitimate sport. We felt like there needed to be somebody organizing a way for the local kids to compete in a professionallly run contest series.

We also felt like we were the right people to do it for the right reason – simply we have a strong love for the sport of skateboarding.

To us the ‘Summer Series’ is way more than just a competition. It’s a way for us to give back to the sport that has treated us so kindly. Being apart of the Summer Series means way more for the participants as well. It’s a way for them to meet new friends, experience all of the local skateparks in the Twin Cities area, and they learn all of the positive lessons that competing in a sport teaches you.

Our main philosophy with running skateboard contests is that we de-emphasize the importance of winning. We focus more on the camaraderie and the pure fun that skateboarding is.

We run each contest in a highly professional manner. We have run competitions at our own facilities for the past 12 years. We bring all of this experience, knowledge and expertise with us to each city skatepark that hosts the ‘Summer Series’.

Our ultimate vision with the ‘Summer Series’ is to turn it into the Little League of Skateboard for the State of Minnesota – first – then – the Little League of Skateboarding for the Midwest – second – and then – who knows where it will go from there?!?

We are looking for like-minded parents that would like to get involved with working with us (the 3rd Lair guys). As this thing grows and grows we’ll need volunteers that can help us run the events. From on site contest management such as working the registration booth to off site help as such as marketing and promoting.

We are looking forward to being involved with this great program that truly benefits the skateboarders that choose to participate. Our work and our dedication is inspired by all everybody that loves this great sport! – SKATEBOARDING!!!
